Pool Games
(or lake games)
We need a few Kid- friendly games for the water.
I've seen and read about a few, and i'd love to share!

1.Sharks and minnows.
I'm sure you're familiar with this game.
You have all of the kids line up on the shallow end of the pool. You choose one "Shark" to be the tagger and everyone else is a "minnow".
The point of the game for the minnows, is to be the last one "alive" ( the point for the sharks is to tag every minnow.)
The sharks say who can cross. (i.e. " everyone with blonde hair." or " everyone with goggles",etc.)
And the game goes on until there is only one (or two) minnow(s) left.
2.Obstacle Course Race
This game is mostly for the older kids.
You can set up underwater courses with hula hoops( weights to keep them down) limbo lines, coins, etc.
And put them on teams and have them swim through the hoops, under and over the limbo lines, and pick up certain coins, and anything else you have planned.

Diy dog toy
Finally, spending a weekend at grandma's in a small town, away from the city noise and rude people. I love being by the dirt road, walking the dogs, and being able to walk a block to the store, or library, or park. It's great.
So for today's Diy, I'm making a dog toy.

- empty plastic water bottle
- old (clean) sock
- a friendly dog to play with!
This is so simple.
Put the bottle in the sock, tie or sew the sock shut, and give it away!!! ( I put broken dog treats in mine, and they noticed so they liked the noise and the treats!!

Light fixture DIY ( two choices)
Umbrella Light
You Will Need:
An old Umberella that you dont need/want anymore
Christmas lights
Hooks
(And a roof to put it on)
Take the cloth cover off the umberella, and string the lights around the arms,hang it up, and tada!!!! You have a porch light, (plug it in) and it should look like this:

Hula Hoop Light
You will need:
A hula hoop
Christmas lights
String
Hooks
Wrap christmas lights around the hula hoop.
use String to hang the hula hoop on the hooks. TADA!!!

Kid Trouble?
Kids having trouble listening? Arguing? Fighting? Here's a solution.
I've been doing this for a little while yet, but there is outstanding changes in behavior when i say " You want a strike?" They stop the bad behavior right away.
You make each kid a chart.
It has their name at the top, and in the corner there is a box that says " Strikes" With 6 lines under it. (You can obviously change the amount.)
This is how it works:
It's basically a competition.
Whoever gets the least amount of strikes gets a prize, but in case there is a tie, you add stickers or just marker dots for good behavior, and whoever has the most good behavior marks, wins a special prize. ( Candy, a toy, whatever)
So whenever they misbehave, You ask them if they want a strike, which means less chance of a prize. (For the littlest one, he didn't exactly get the concept, so i just said "If you want a prize, then stop hitting." and stuff.
It's worked so far for the 6 year old, 4 year old, and 2 year old, so its nice!!!
Comment the results if you use please!!!!
